Maintenance

How do I maintain the board after riding?

1. Take the board out of the water with the tail down. Keep tilted until the water completely dropped of the board;
2. Check the board, the battery, the mast, the propeller, the hall switch for any collision or damage. If there is damage or water leakage, please contact the jetfly technical support staff for assistance;
3. After use in seawater, please wash the board, pump-jet propulsion system, and driver with fresh water, and wipe dry with a towel;
4. Rinse the battery connector with fresh water. Do not flush the battery connector directly using a high pressure water hose;
5. Using air blower to blow dry the battery’s connector before charging.


How do I do the further maintenance?

1. Using WD-40 to Clean the battery and the power module's connector periodically
2. Replace the O-rings on the power module's connector after 60~100 riding times.
3. Apply WD40 all the external screws periodically

How do I store the board?

Please keep the board in the dry and cool space

How do I store the battery?

1. Remove the battery from the board after usage, and store it in a safe storage environment
2. Ideally, the battery should be stored at a temperature range of 0°C~25°C. Keep the product away from fire and high temperature environments.
3. The storage environment should be kept cool and dry, and should not be exposed to the sun or rain
4. If the battery needs to be stored for a longer duration (over 30 days), charge or discharge it to 45%~50% of battery charging level before storing.
5. During storage, the battery shall be charged every 3 months, maintaining 45~50% of the battery capacity at all time

How to use the jetboard safely?

1. We strongly recommend that all jetboard riders wear a helmet and an impact vest when riding. Be sure to also always check the rules and regulations of the country in which you plan to ride.

Safety tips when using batteries?

1. Be careful when handling and positioning the battery on a flat surface to avoid damage to the battery shell.
2. It is strictly prohibited to disassemble the equipment
3. Avoid any collision, impact, or physical damage
4. Please check the battery before use, it is strictly prohibited to use damaged batteries
5. It is strictly prohibited to use wires or other conductive objects to short-circuit the positive and negative poles of the battery
6. Do not install the battery in water, and complete the assembly of all parts in a dry environment on the shore
7. Do not insert or remove the battery when the battery power is on, otherwise the power interface may be damaged
8. The normal range of the battery's operating environment temperature is 0°C-40°C
9. Every time before use, make sure that the battery is fully charged.

safety precautions when charging batteries?

1. Always use the dedicated charger supplied by JETFLY for charging.
JETFLY will not assume the responsibility for any consequences caused by using a non-specified charger for charging.
2. When charging, please put charger and battery in a stable and dry place that is free of flammable and explosive objects and out of the reach of children
3. Do not charge the battery if it is damaged
4. Do not leave the battery unattended during charging
5. This product should be charged at ambient temperature between 5°C~40°C
6. Do not charge the battery immediately after use. After usage, the battery might reach very high temperature levels. It is recommended to let it cool down to room temperature before re-charging
7. Do not charge the battery for a prolonged period of time. Disconnect the charger from the battery after charging.

safety precautions when installing batteries?

1. Place the board on a flat surface with the front side up
2. Install the battery to the battery compartment, put one side (without connector) down firstly then put the other side down
3. Lift the battery a little bit and align the connectors then push the battery down
4. Make sure the battery is locked into place then locked the battery latches


Transportation

Can I fly with a jetboard?

You cannot travel with a jetboard unless you ship it.

safety precautions when transporting batteries?

1. Batteries are considered dangerous objects and should not be transported on passenger aircrafts. Batteries shall be transported by cargo plane or marine cargo ship.
2. It is illegal and dangerous to transport batteries without compliance with the regulations of the transportation of dangerous goods. Always consult a professional before shipping batteries.
